FAAC automatic barriers are the ideal solution for managing and controlling vehicle access in a wide variety of settings. From residential complexes to corporate entrances, industrial sites, highway toll gates, and both public and private parking areas—our barriers are engineered to deliver maximum security and reliability.
With FAAC barriers, you can efficiently regulate vehicle flow, prevent unauthorized access, and ensure that only authorized users can enter and park within your premises.
Featuring boom arms ranging from 2 to 8 meters and opening times between 1.5 and 6 seconds, our barriers are suitable for any type of access point—even in high-traffic conditions.
Built with durable, high-quality materials, FAAC barriers are designed to withstand harsh weather and ensure long-lasting, trouble-free operation.
No matter the size or layout of your access area, FAAC has the right automatic barrier solution for you.
Technology
Hydraulic, Electromechanical, and HYbrid
These are the three core technologies behind today’s FAAC automatic barriers.
Each one is engineered to meet specific needs, offering maximum flexibility for every application.

Hydraulic
Hydraulic technology has always been a hallmark of FAAC excellence — and remains our flagship innovation. In fact, FAAC was the first to introduce it to the gate automation sector, back in 1965.
Applying hydraulics in this field requires the highest level of engineering and absolute precision during assembly.
This expertise allows us to offer all the advantages of hydraulic systems, which deliver outstanding performance across a wide range of applications.
- Exceptional durability: Service life up to 4 times longer than equivalent electromechanical systems.
- High power in a compact design: Delivers twice the force of electromechanical alternatives, while maintaining a compact footprint.
- Superior resistance:
Perfect for harsh and aggressive environments—dust, sand, salt—and for intensive use. - Maximum safety: Mechanical force adjustment via by-pass valves ensures safe and reliable operation.
- Easy maintenance: Simple to service and repair, with minimal effort required from technicians.
- Smooth, quiet movement:
Almost silent in operation, ensuring a more comfortable and refined user experience. -
Reversibility: Available with reversible operators—single or dual direction—for safe opening from either side.

Electromechanical
Electromechanical technology stands out for its simplicity. It was developed to meet the needs of those seeking automation systems with outstanding value for money.
In this solution, the components that transfer power from the motor to the gate leaf are mechanical, ensuring reliable and efficient operation.
-
Excellent value for money: High-performing automation systems at competitive prices—ideal for those looking for efficiency and affordability.
-
Simplicity of design: Essential, user-friendly design for easy operation and straightforward maintenance.
-
Proven know-how: Backed by decades of experience and field-tested expertise, guaranteeing reliable performance.
-
Extensive product range: Solutions tailored to various application needs, including integrated systems and special configurations.

Hybrid
HYbrid technology represents the new frontier of FAAC automation—a solution that combines the strengths of hydraulic systems with the flexibility of 24V DC technology.
-
Total control: Precisely adjust force and speed directly via the electronic control board, making it easier to comply with current safety regulations.
-
Ultra-smooth motion: Gentle acceleration and deceleration ramps ensure a fluid, jerk-free movement for maximum user comfort.
-
High efficiency: With reduced power dissipation, this technology supports frequent and intensive usage.
-
Emergency battery backup: In the event of a power outage, the backup battery keeps the system fully operational.

AC Motors
FAAC's journey began with hydraulic systems powered by alternating current (230V AC) motors. In these motors, the flow of current generates a rotating magnetic field within the stator, which drives the shaft and rotor.
In single-phase systems, a capacitor is connected between the stator windings to initiate rotation. These motors are equipped with integrated thermal protection that shuts off power in case of overload, ensuring maximum operational safety.
Despite technological advancements and the introduction of DC motors, AC motors remain widely used today—thanks to their proven reliability and consistent performance over time.

DC Motors
DC motors consist of a rotor powered via a brush collector and a stator that generates a constant magnetic field.
While they lack built-in physical thermal protection, FAAC systems feature electronic thermal protection, ensuring safe and reliable operation at all times.
By adjusting the supply voltage and current, both motor speed and torque can be precisely controlled.
Key advantages of DC motors include: precise control of force and speed, smooth acceleration and deceleration ramps for enhanced comfort, high energy efficiency, backup battery support to maintain operation during power outages

Brushless DC Motors
Brushless motors represent the latest evolution in automation technology.
Unlike traditional brushed motors, these DC motors do not require sliding electrical contacts on the rotor shaft. Instead, this function is managed electronically by the control board.
Brushless DC motors generate less heat, making them ideal for intensive, continuous operation. They also offer the same performance in a more compact form factor, making them perfect for applications where space and efficiency are critical.
